Israel's bombings of Lebanon started last Wednesday in response to
Hezbollah's capture of two IDF soldiers. Since then, over 300
Lebanese have died as a result of these bombings - majority innocent
bystanders.

While Israel claims that Iran and Syria are materially supplying
Hezbollah, no one mentions that it is US political and material
support that permits Israel to operate with impunity and brutality.

This is on the heels of a weeks long escalation of attacks on the
people of Gaza, following the capture of an Israeli soldier by
Hamas. While Israel has almost 10,000 Palestinian prisoners in their
jails, 3 IDF prisoners held by the Palestinians is 3 prisoners too
many in the eyes of Israel.

The government and media already portray Israel as a helpless victim
of Islamic fundamentalist terrorists, so it is even more confusing
when the antiwar movement largely remains silent on the Israeli
bombings of Lebanon.
