Global Warming Is An Inconvenient Truth. Now That You Know, What Will You Do?
Come to a Town Hall Meeting!
Wednesday, July 26, 2006, 7:00 PM.
Wellington Avenue United Church of Christ
615 W. Wellington Avenue, Chicago
Each day the threat of global warming comes into sharper focus as new reports of its consequences hit the airwaves. Scientists are warning that, unless we immediately begin to reduce the amount of global warming pollution we emit, the planet we leave our children will be dramatically different form the one we know today.
The good news is that practical solutions exist today to address this problem. At the "Town Hall" meeting we will explore:
The Cool Cities Campaign
Clean Energy Options for Today
The Biggest Single Step You Can Take
The Legislative Agenda
Clean Coal - An Oxymoron?
Personal Conservation and Lifestyle Changes
We will open the floor to questions and comments after brief presentations by each organization, encouraging participants to connect with on-going campaigns and to share ideas for action and collaboration.
