the hardest question ever, a puppet show about prisons and violence in
our
communities.
sponsored by midwest books to prisoners.
"a mixture of live performers, chain gang inspired music and shadow
puppets, our show sits inside a life sized prison cell covered with
100s of
letters written by prisoners. we aim to create a dialogue surrounding
the
mixed messages our society sends concerning violence by examining our
country's practices of both punishing and praising those who are
violent.
the hardest question ever is a three act play portraying community
responsibility, forgiveness and the pain of loss. the stories are
taken
from real life events that are directly related to the creators of the
play. there will be a discussion following the performance-we hope to
add
your stories to our own."
discussion to follow including former prisoners, anti prison activists
and
survivors of violent crimes.
