Mumia Abu-Jamal, former Black Panther Party member, MOVE supporter, and acclaimed journalist known as Philadelphia’s “voice of the voiceless,” has been on death row for over 24 years, framed for the shooting of a police officer. Mumia’s case has entered a critical turn, and the life of this innocent man is in grave danger. The state is seeking to reimpose the death sentence in what is likely to be the last round of legal appeals in this case. For over four years the courts have refused to hear the confession of Arnold Beverly that he shot the cop, and that “Jamal had nothing to do with the shooting.” The time is now to rekindle mass protest against this racist political frame-up. The time is now to make Mumia’s case a rallying cry against the racist death penalty, against black oppression, against government repression. Free Mumia Abu-Jamal! Abolish the racist death penalty!
