Indybay radio interviews the candidate on the demographics and issues of the Illinois' 8th Congressional District, which extends from north of Chicago to the Wisconsin border along the lake.

Scheurer is running for the seat formerly held by Republican Phil Crane, and now first-term Democrat Melissa Bean is emplaced with diminishing support. He has created a new party, which needs to attain ballot status in order to get in the November elections. The campaign needs petitions of residential voters by late June, and is encouraging experienced petition gatherers to help with the effort.

Scheurer describes his training, his dawning awareness of the tragic circumstances America faces, and his support from the community that is being hard hit by the fiscal irresponsibility of the current administration and their backers.
