RELIGIOUS LEADERS ANNOUNCE SUPPORT FOR MAY 1ST IMMIGRATION MARCH

Rev. Jesse Jackson, Catholic Bishop Gustavo Call on People of Faith to Support Immigration Reform

Faith leaders will gather in two press conferences in the city to announce support for the upcoming immigration reform march, scheduled to take place May 1st.

Bishop Gustavo, Episcopal Vicar for Vicariate V, will call upon people of all faiths to join in the May 1st mobilization. Participation in the march has been a part of the ongoing Justice for Immigrants Campaign led by the Priests for Justice and the Office of Peace and Justice of the Archdiocese of Chicago.

Rev. Jesse Jackson, joined by other faith leaders, will also announce RAINBOW/PUSH’s support for the May 1st march at a press conference scheduled for 6:00 pm. He, along with other leaders from Rainbow/PUSH, will call on all workers—African Americans and Latino immigrants—to join in solidarity during the march.
