Update -- Reclaim the Commons Welcome Center is open today at New World Resource Center (1300 N. Western Ave., directions here) from 12 noon to 9 pm. From 1:30 to 5:30 pm today, we will screen a series of films here. Computers are available to be used, we've got organic coffee from Nicaragua, and the NWRC Infoshop is open. Please come by!

Also today, at 6 pm Carmelo Ruiz from the Puerto Rico Biosafety Project is speaking at Chicago's Puerto Rico Cultural Center (2625 W. Division St.), about the threat of genetically engineered agriculture, with an emphasis on bio-colonialism in Puerto Rico. This will be happening just a few blocks away from the New World Resource Center, so come here early & we'll walk to Carmelo's presentation together at about 5:30!
