Stan Goff will speak at an antiwar forum in the heart of Chicago's Puerto Rican community on Thursday, November 3. He will be joined on the program by Matthew Cassel, a member of the Palestine Solidarity Group (PSG) that has recently returned from a year in the Occupied Palestinian Territories, and a representative from the National Boricua Human Rights Network (NBHRN). Speakers will report on anti-colonial struggles in Iraq, New Orleans, Palestine and Puerto Rico and discuss their relevance to the growing antiwar movement. The event will also feature a display of photographs taken during Cassel's stay in Palestine.
Stan Goff is the author of "Hideous Dream: A Soldier's Memoir of the US Invasion of Haiti" and "Full Spectrum Disorder: The Military in the New American Century". He is a member of the BRING THEM HOME NOW! coordinating committee, a retired Special Forces master sergeant, and the father of an active duty soldier in addition to writing for Counterpunch and other progressive publications. Goff is currently working on a book concerning gender and sex in the military.
