New Delhi, Sep 30 (Prensa Latina) On the back of a steady rise in industrial exports and an increasing domestic demand, India´s economy is thriving, with a 8.1 percent increase in the second quarter, official figures indicate.


According to a government report on Friday, the increase is well ahead of the 7 percent rise seen in the previous quarter. Experts say that rapid growth in manufacturing and business services, such as outsourcing, offset a small rise in agriculture.



Economists agree that India´s huge industrial capacity and growing affluence have made it one of the world´s fastest-growing economies. Precisely, the manufacturing sector was driving force behind the growth in the first quarter.



Thanks to booming demand from products and infrastructure in India, businesses were able to withstand the impact of higher energy costs.
