Prairie Dust Films is hosting a fundraiser to celebrate their film project, PLAN [b].

THE EVENT:
Prairie Dust Films invites you, your local organization, and other professionals, politicians, artists, and citizens to a film celebration on 26 August 2005. Please join us in support of a local independent film, made by Chicago filmmakers.

The evening offers a screening of the trailer from the work-in-progress feature, PLAN [b]; food from local restaurants; live DJ; political comedy sketches; footage from the Republican Convention in NY and the inauguration parade in DC; and an opportunity to mingle with creative individuals interested in understanding contemporary events. Raffle prizes and silent auction will support costs incurred during the completed shoots.

Freedom free all night….

WHERE AND WHEN:
PLAN [B] Event at Sonotheque, 1444 Chicago AVE. 6-9PM. Sliding suggested donation.

ABOUT THE FILM:
Plan [b] is a truly independent project built from the ground up by filmmakers based in Chicago. As a ‘fiction set in reality’, the film begins during the heated Presidential election of 2004. It is a humorous exploration of the many interpretations of what it means to be an American.

THE CONCEPT:
PLAN [b] is choose-your-own-adventure-fiction-film set within real events occurring during the 2004 election year. This independent project is a collaboration between writers, actors, and directors and encourages a creative response to unforeseen events. The script is written with anticipation of what may occur in reality and then is refined to move the story forward.

PRODUCTION STATUS:
The cast and crew of PLAN [B] attended the Republican Convention in NYC and the Presidential Inauguration in DC and filmed principal scenes within the midst of the action. After completing photography of events that won’t occur again, PLAN [b] has returned to pre-production: fundraising, investor scouting, and script re-writing. Principal photography is anticipated for the Fall 2005 with the release scheduled for the Spring/Summer of 2006.

PRAIRIE DUST FILMS:
We are an independent film production company based in Chicago. Founded in 2002, our mission is to make films that present contemporary American issues in an entertaining way. We encourage our audience to recognize the diversity within our culture and to gain a greater understanding of the complicated choices people make. Our films have screened in festivals and on television and have received funding from PBS and private foundations.
