Demo to support efforts within AFL-CIO Convention to pass "Build Unity and Trust With Workers Worldwide" resolution.
The Organizing Group to Say No to the NED--a Chicago-area coalition sponsored by the Latin America Solidarity Coalition--has called for a demonstration on Sunday, July 24 at 4 pm at Navy Pier, Chicago. This is one part of a larger, on-going campaign to End the NED (National Endowment for Democracy).
The four demands for this demonstration are:
-- Pass the "Build Unity and Trust With Workers Worldwide" Resolution at the AFL-CIO Convention;
-- International Labor Solidarity is a Must: Don't Taint it with Bush Money;
-- Yes to International Solidarity-No to Bush Administration/National Endowment for Democracy (NED) Funding;
-- End US Intervention in Venezuela.
We seek personal participation, mobilization, and organizational endorsements for this demonstration.
Organizing meetings are open, and participation welcomed. Next organizing meeting: Wednesday, July 13, Blackwater Cafe/Acme Art Works, 1741 N. Western Ave, Chicago, at 7 pm.
