Dear Radio Friend,
The latest Shortwave Report (July 8) is up at the website
< www.outfarpress.com/outfarpress/shortwave.shtml >in both broadcast quality (13.3MB) and quickdownload or streaming form (3.3MB) (28:59)

This week's show features stories from China Radio International, Radio Netherlands, Spanish National Radio, Radio Havana Cuba, and the Voice of Russia.
From CHINA- Falun Gong members hijacked satellite transmissions in China. China's family planning commission will begin rewards for limiting family size rather than punishing those who exceed limits. China resents that the US Congress questions whether they can buy California-based oil giant UNOCAL. China and Kazakhstan agreed to develop a 3000 km oil pipeline. The Iranian foreign ministry denies that the president-elect was involved with the 1979 US hostage-taking. The French foreign minister says the EU will never allow Iran to resume nuclear development. Japan, Germany, India and Brazil have presented a UN resolution calling for 6 new permanent members on the Security Council.
From NETHERLANDS- Former Peruvian president Fujimori, who has been hiding out in Japan for several years, is planning to return to Peru and take the Presidential race next year.
From SPAIN- Farmers have gone on strike in Peru in response to FTAA negotiations. A Chilean appeals court has ruled that former dictator Pinochet may be tried for the 1975 coverup of Operation Colombo. Bolivian lawmakers reached a deal on upcoming elections. Protesters clashed with police at the G-8 summit in Scotland, pushing for an end to poverty and actions to reduce climate change. The Shanghai Cooperation Organization asked the US to set a date for troop withdrawal from Central Asia. Fear that Israel's Sharon might be assassinated by ultra-nationalists grew as the Gaza pullout continued.
From CUBA- The UK newspaper The Independent confirmed that US troops used Napalm in the attack on Fallujah in Iraq- the Pentagon has twice refused to allow the UN to do an independent investigation into what really took place in the assault on Fallujah.
From RUSSIA-On the eve of the July 4th celebrations in the US, the National Council of Churches has called for a troop withdrawal from Iraq. Then a commentary on Washington's attempt to achieve world supremacy, in a world where it is the singular superpower.

All that plus times and frequencies for listening at home. It's free to rebroadcast, please notify me if you're airing it and haven't notified me in the last month, please mention the website if you only air a portion. If you just want to listen and have a slow connection, try the streaming version- lower sound quality but good enough and way easier if you don't have a high-speed internet connection. If streaming is a problem because of your slow connection, download the smaller file- it takes 20 minutes or less, and will play swell in any mp3 player application (RealPlayer, Winamp, Quicktime, iTunes, etc) you have on your computer.
This program will be aired on Friday evening at 7pm (PST) on KZYX/Z Philo CA, you might be able to stream via
There are several other streams that work better- < www.freakradio.org >Freak Radio Santa Cruz now streams this program on Friday at 9:00am (PST)
Also check out LavaLamp Radio (Japan)-
streaming the SWR, check out the schedule.
And the Partytown streams are great and informative- I hope you'll listen and air this if you're connected with a radio station. I am still wondering how to get financially compensated for the 25 hours I put into this program weekly- any ideas are appreciated. Any stations rebroadcasting this (or listeners) are welcome to donate for production costs. You can do so through the website. Many thanks to those that have donated! No Guilt! (maybe a little)

--The capitalist can only make a whole people go to war -- want war, clamor for war as, again and again, we have seen whole peoples doing -- by capturing the popular will. The only prophylactic against that situation is to make the public aware of the way in which it is being misled.
