Two arrested at Anti-Fourth of July gathering

2 anti-imperialist activist were arrested tonight.
Despite hundreds of Chicagoans who celebrated this Fourth of July by firing illegal fireworks, the Chicago Police department has decided to crack down on a small gathering of activists who have no love for the birthday of the most powerful imperialist country on the planet.

Details are few, but it is confirmed that two activists, Jose Martin and a student from Columbia college, were arrested early in the morning of July 5th in the lincoln Park neighborhood.

As of this writing- 2:40 in the morning Tuesday, they are being held at the police station at Belmont and Western. The charges are unknown, but according to one police officer they are being charged with disorderly conduct, while according to another cop they are being charged with felony arson.

They need solidarity and support, so if possible please come to outside the belmont and western police station to support these comrades.

We will be posting more information regarding court dates, and appearances in front of judges as soon as we get them.
