Filmmakers -- 5234 N Clark (just N of Foster)

The Chicagoland Coalition for Civil Liberties and Rights, in cooperation with Chicago Filmmakers, will show the film State Secrets, and have a discussion afterwards on Friday, July 8, at 7 p.m. at Chicago Filmmakers, 5243 N. Clark (a 2nd floor walkup a block and a half north of Foster).

State Secrets is a documentary highlighting the Patriot Act, changes to the FBI investigative guidelines, the Bush Administration's "enemy combatant" policy, and the increasing concentration of power in the Executive Branch.

Right now, Congress is considering whether to extend or even expand various provisions of the Patriot Act.

After the film showing, we will open discussion on the situation, and what to do about it, with knowledgeable resource people on hand. All questions and views are welcome.

A $7 donation will be asked to cover expenses, but no one will be turned away.
