The Latin America Solidarity Coalition invites you and your group to an Education and Organizing Meeting, Tuesday May 10, 7pm, Decima Musa (1901 S. Loomis)
The AFL-CIO Annual Convention wil be in Chicago at Navy Pier, July 24-28, 2005 -- and we will be there too.
We want to bring to peoples' attention a serious concern about the AFL-CIO accepting money from NED, the National Endowment for Democracy, to destabilize progressive governments and elections.
People of Venezuela, Haiti, Zimbabwe, Nicaragua, El Salvador, the Philippines, and Iraq all say NO to the NED, NO to coups, NO to US intervention against popular will.
What is the AFL-CIO doing?
Speaking will be:
* Leonel Jean Baptiste, activist and leader for the people of Haiti
* A distinguished representative of the Chicago Venezuela Consulate
* Rasheida Weaver, representing Chicago Zimbabwe Solidarity
* James Jacobs, from the last-NED working group
