The Coalition for an Independent Judiciary, an umbrella
organization of more than a dozen leading women's, civil
rights, labor and environmental organizations, has called
for rallies on April 27 in cities across the country to stop
the nuclear option. Using the Moveon.org website, activists
have planned more than 100 events nationwide. One has been
organized in Chicago. As the rally was just announced and is
being organized virtually over the internet, I do not know
the organizer of the one in Chicago, so I have no other info
about it to relay. I'm sure within the next day, other
organizations, in addition to Moveon.org, will seize the day
and get the word out to their members and become involved.
If I have more info, I will post it. I'm sure this event
will be open to people from many different organizations, who
oppose the nuclear option.
