Announcement for Loyola Anti-War Network Teach-In
This Friday, March 18, 2005 Loyola Anti-War Network will be holding a teach-in. This event is free and open to the public. It will be held in the Centenial Forum Student Union on campus. (#9 in this map - www.luc.edu/info/maps/lsc.shtml).

The title of the event is "Teach Peace, Live Peace" This teach-in surrounds the topic of violence in the world today. Speakers will be as follows:

11:00am: Opening Prayer w/ Donal Godfrey, SJ (Jesuits)
11:15am: "American Empire, Iraq, and Bush" w/ Lauren Langman, PhD (Sociology Department)
12:00pm: "Women Challenging Violence, Seeking Peace" w/ Prudence Moylan, PhD (History Department)
12:30pm - 1:00pm - Break
1:00pm: "Causes of Violent Crime" w/ Arthur Lurigio (Criminal Justice Department)
1:30pm: "Bicycles and Road Rage" w/ Emily Willobee (Bike Club)
2:15pm: "The Courage of Violence, the Cowardice of Violence" w/ David Schweickart, PhD (Philosophy Department)
3:00pm: "Understanding and Challenging the Obstacles to Peace in the Middle East" w/ Joel Finkel (Not In My Name)
4:00pm: "Palestine: Occupation of Violence" w/ Kevin Clark (International Solidarity Movement)
5:30pm: "Community Involvement and Corporate Media" w/ Mitchell Szczepanczyk
