This post is a reasonable article, with references to other articles. Of course it contains opinion, but it also contains observations of fact based on experience. That's what an article is. Please, don't make fools of yourselves, you have such a great situation there, don't abuse it. The Freepers and other rightists say you are "socialist/fascists" (?) Is it true?
RE: AN OPEN LETTER TO PROTEST WARRIOR FOR MARCH 19TH
Please Stop your Censorship
This post is a reasonable article, with references to other articles. Of course it contains opinion, but it also contains observations of fact based on experience. That's what an article is. Please, don't make fools of yourselves, you have such a great situation there, don't abuse it. The Freepers and other rightists say you are "socialist/fascists" (?) Is it true? Do you abuse your power? Do you interpret other peoples info and only print what fits into a very narrow definition of what progressive ideas are? Maybe you should stop that.
Please do not let your egos interfere with the free exchange of information and ideas. Your position allows you to change your interpretation of posts, are you really kidding yourselves into thinking we can't see the inconsistency of CIMC policy? There is no steady policy, you base your decisions on your own personal positions. I've seen posts that are pure opinion.
Why not hope against hope some of the led PW decides not to show up on M.19 because they get some decent info while they are trolling this site?
By censoring this article, you may be an example of what we are trying to avoid. First it was moved from the local section, where it belongs, then it was removed altogether. Just because it was originally a response to another post does not mean it cannot stand alone, I've seen that done before with no consequence.
There needs to be some sane communication before March 19th, and your personal judgement about whether a post like this is appropriate is not as relevant as you perceive. Please leave your dogma at home when you go to your much appreciated responsibilities at Indymedia.
There is no hate here, it is not a rant, it is good information, and you have a very inflated self-perception regarding your personal importance and judgement. Why not hope against hope some of the PW decides not to show up on M.19 because they get some decent info while they are trolling this site?
Your censorship, and authoritarian condescension is unwelcome and offensive, you are an unelected bureaucrat/ volunteer, not a moral judge. I know that sounds harsh, but hey, it's really just an observation. This is an open publishing site, and my info is not right-wing at ALL. Please don't become what you claim to despise. The Freepers and other rightists say you are "socialist/fascists" (?) Is it true? Do you abuse your power? Do you interpret other peoples info and only print what fits into a very narrow definition of what progressive ideas are?
Please reconsider your position and do some honest self-evaluation.
Please Read the article in full then please post it before March 19th.
Below is the article that C.K. (presumably, forgive me if I'm wrong) was offended by, allowing personal politics to interfere with the engagement of free speech among free-thinking people who would like to avoid any violence on March 19th.

AN OPEN LETTER TO PROTEST WARRIOR FOR MARCH 19TH
Seriously now kids, all of you PW and non-PW alike. All of you read this.
We know there are some people in PW who know exactly what's going on, they are fascists and there is no changing that. But there are a lot of honest people there who are looking for answers. Well, I would not blame them for not looking to indymedia considering some of the extremity coming from a different direction. Almost like they are mirrors of one another.
Believe me when I tell you we could acomplish a lot more without dogma, and the people sent in to the progressive community to divide and alienate people from really getting anything done. All those stupid little parties and non-profits who are dependent on funds that are given under the conditions they do not participate in the electoral system. They argue uselessly about things that happened in 1916. Why do we even bother with them today? Really good question.
You can find things in the mainstream media that will give you clues about where the country is heading. If we do not wake up and just think about our values and our shared Constitution. The Constitution is supposed to make us a nation of laws, not men's dictates. So, protesting and dissenting is a natural part of american culture.
But what are we protesting?
I mean really, let's assume the Consitution is still in place, what are you upset about?
Now, unless you think the corporate media is a leftist conspiracy, or a plot of OSAMA BIN LADEN, you have to take what you find in these following links seriously.
Is the direction President Bush is taking what you really want?
Look at some of the people he has recently hired. You can tell what someone will do by looking at what they have done.
here's a nice mainstream link for you to learn all about your new Intelligence Coordinator.

More torture and cover-up.
Hey Alberto Gonzalez, our new Attorney General wrote memos and gave bush the advice to ignore international agreements and treaties, and that led to the Abu Gharaib torture.

How about this. Guess who wrote this?
"My feeling as a Christian points me to my Lord and Savior as a fighter. It points me to the man who once in loneliness, surrounded only by a few followers ... was greatest not as a sufferer but as a fighter.
"In boundless love as a Christian and as a man I read through the passage which tells us how the Lord at last rose in His might and seized the scourge to drive out of the Temple the brood of vipers and adders...
"As a Christian ... I have the duty to be a fighter for truth and justice..."
Sounds like something Bush would say right?
Wrong, It was April 12, 1922 and it was Adolf Hitler. Maniacs ALWAYS use religion to trick unknowing people.
[But the warnings of investigators were ignored at the highest levels, in part because the government was distracted; the man who claimed to be the nation's leader had not been elected by a majority vote and the majority of citizens claimed he had no right to the powers he coveted.
He was a simpleton, some said, a cartoon character of a man who saw things in black-and-white terms and didn't have the intellect to understand the subtleties of running a nation in a complex and internationalist world.
His coarse use of language - reflecting his political roots in a southernmost state - and his simplistic and often-inflammatory nationalistic rhetoric offended the aristocrats, foreign leaders, and the well-educated elite in the government and media. And, as a young man, he'd joined a secret society with an occult-sounding name and bizarre initiation rituals that involved skulls and human bones.
Nonetheless, he knew the terrorist was going to strike (although he didn't know where or when), and he had already considered his response. When an aide brought him word that the nation's most prestigious building was ablaze, he verified it was the terrorist who had struck and then rushed to the scene and called a press conference.
"You are now witnessing the beginning of a great epoch in history," he proclaimed, standing in front of the burned-out building, surrounded by national media. "This fire," he said, his voice trembling with emotion, "is the beginning." He used the occasion - "a sign from God," he called it - to declare an all-out war on terrorism and its ideological sponsors, a people, he said, who traced their origins to the Middle East and found motivation for their evil deeds in their religion.
Two weeks later, the first detention center for terrorists was built in Oranianberg to hold the first suspected allies of the infamous terrorist. In a national outburst of patriotism, the leader's flag was everywhere, even printed large in newspapers suitable for window display.]
Is that what you REALLY want?
Read this now. This guy sounds nuts but he's a U.S. Congressman:
Speaking at a veterans' celebration at Suncreek United Methodist Church in Allen, Texas, on Feb. 19, Johnson told the crowd that he explained his theory to President Bush and Rep. Kay Granger (R-Texas) on the porch of the White House one night.
Johnson said he told the president that night, "Syria is the problem. Syria is where those weapons of mass destruction are, in my view. You know, I can fly an F-15, put two nukes on `em and I'll make one pass. We won't have to worry about Syria anymore."
I'm not saying you need to come out and protest with the left.. but you need to start making some decisions about who you are going to be. We are looked upon by the world as a scourge right now. The other militarized countries are joining forces to resist our policies and we are heading for a depression.
Are these working class people on the left really the problem? When was the last time you stood in line at a McDonald's with a millionaire? Or swept a floor with Donald Trump?
You will be reduced to poverty with the coming policies regardless of what your politics are.
My suggestion? Get a copy of the Constitution start studying it while you still can. Teach your kids, because they may have some kind of outside chance to bring it back to life.
