The Rainforest Action Network is currently in Chicago pressuring Bank One and JPMorgan Chase to stop funding enviromental destruction and adopt environmental standards. As you may know, JPMorgan Chase, second in size and power only to Citigroup, is still operating in 2005 without any environmental policy for investment. Unlike its competitors, JPMorgan Chase is dragging its feet and refusing to take decisive action to stop investments of mass destruction. From Ecuador to Iraq, JPMorgan Chase is funding some of the worst of the worst in terms of global warming, militarism, human rights abuses, and forest destruction. JPMorgan Chase and Bank One are RAN's 3rd targets in this Global Finance Campaign. We launched similar winning campaigns against Citigroup and Bank of America, which were also invested in and lent money to corporations that profitted from environmental destruction. As a result of those successes, we firmly believe we can influence JPMorgan Chase and Bank One to follow suit.
