Five years ago Illinois Gov. George Ryan declared a moratorium on executions in Illinois. Join us to mark the five-year anniversary of this historic date and continue the struggle to end the death penalty. "Voices from Death Row and Abolitionists" brings together the voices and talents of the exonerated, death row prisoners, their family members, activists and artists who have shared a vision for a society without capital punishment.

Readings and Performances by exonerated death row prisoners:
*Delbert Tibbs, poet, exonerated Florida death row prisoner
*Darby Tillis, musician, Illinois exonerated number one
*Madison Hobley-tortured by Jon Burge and pardoned by Illinois Gov. Ryan
*Conversations with prisoners LIVE from their prison cell via telephone hook-up
*Paintings and visual art by death row prisoners
*Rap performance by Mr. Moneybags

Followed by an...
...OPEN MIC- Social justice artists and activists are invited to share poetry, spoken word, rap, etc.
