Fourth Estate - R.I.P. I didn't know.

It's not like I was pitching a story idea for a movie. I just wanted to expose a bit of wrongdoing that I had uncovered.
I have been trying unsuccessfully to get the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services to enforce Medicare regulations. Contacting the media wasn't my first choice, but since this is an issue that affects anybody who already has or will be enrolled with Medicare or with a Medicare HMO, I thought that this would be of interest to others.

I called the mainstream press and the alternative press, commercial T.V. and public T.V., and a miscellaneous slew of other media outlets. They all blew me off.

I am glad for the Chicago IndyMedia site, because it allows me to post my own story. However, I don't want to be one of those guys who gets obsessed with an issue, and rants about it to his grave, or in my case since I'm being cremated, the back yard.

That is why I think my adventure would be more credible if it were reported by an actual [somebody other than me] person.

That ain't gonna happen.

Hell, I even got blown off by a Big 10 school's wire service!

The reporter from the paper that used to be down by the river told me that my story sounded like an "arcane dispute with an insurance company"...

...but how many "arcane disputes' result in being reached out and touched by a phone call from Homeland Security [Federal Protective Services]?...I was threatened with "prosecution" if I did not "cease and desist" from corresponding with CMS. I asked, but I was not told, what I had written to warrant such a threat...I left it there.

Who am I to argue?
