At around 9:30am, December 6, a status hearing for Aaron Patterson and Mark(?) Manny commenced.

There was a good turnout of supporters.

There was discussion between Mr. Patterson's lawyers and the judge about tapes/videos that were sent to Mr. Patterson, but were of poor quality. His lawyers wanted new tapes/videos that were of better quality sent to Mr. Patterson before his trial date. The judge acknowledged this and didn't seem to mind nor did the state. I don't know exactly what the tapes/videos are referring to, but I took note anyway.

There was discussion about moving the trial date to another time, but the judge seemed pretty firm in keeping the February 22nd date.

Mr. Patterson's lawyers asked for bail/bond(I believe?) and the judge didn't seem to have an issue with this as long as the proper motions were filed.

Mr. Manny's lawyers requested that Mr. Manny be allowed to leave the state of IL for Christmas. The judge didn't have an issue with this as long as the proper papers were filed with the proper authorities.

At about this time Mr. Patterson asked if he could speak, and the judge responded by asking if he would like to consult with his lawyers first. After briefly whispering to Mr Patterson, his lawyers asked for a shirt recess, which was granted.

After the recess, Mr. Patterson explained to the judge that there is only one typewriter on his floor at the Metropolitan Correctional Center (MCC) and that to properly prepare for the trial in Feb. he needs more access to the afore mentioned typewriter. In addition, he asked for more access to the law library. The judge responded that she would look into this if she had some kind of brief from his lawyers.

Court was then adjourned shortly after some date negotiations for motions and the next status hearing.

The deadline for motions was fixed at Jan 10th.
The deadline for responses to motions was fixed at Jan. 20th.
The next status hearing will be held on Jan. 27 at 10am.
The trial date is set at Feb. 22nd.

This was my first court assignment and I may have left things out/misstated dates and such. If I have, PLEASE correct me. Thank you!
