On the evening of November 2, people around the country and across the world will be focusing on the pending results of the US Presidential elections. FSRN reporters from across the country -- including Chicago and southern Illinois -- will report live on breaking news, including developments in crucial swing states, polling places and election hotspots, with a sharp focus on closely contested congressional races, battle-ground states where third party candidates could make a significant difference and analysis from community organizers and community leaders of under-represented constituencies and issues.

We will also cross live to our local reporters in Iraq, Gaza, Venezuela and other countries for foreign reaction to the days voting.

The coverage will be anchored by FSRN's Deepa Fernandes & Mitch Jeserich at WBAI in NY with Nell Abram at WMNF in Tampa and Monica Lopez at KPFK in Los Angeles. Coverage in Chicago is expected to include live feeds and reports from HotHouse, which is hosting an election night gathering, and from downstate Illinois.

FSRN will air from 8pm-10pm EST on the KU's right channel. The broadcast will be two stand alone hours with headlines at the top of each hour. Stations will be invited to take the whole broadcast or either hour. The two hours will also be posted to FSRN's website and www.audioport.org if stations wish to run the hours later in the evening. The broadcast will be headquartered out of Pacifica station WBAI in NYC.

This broadcast will be produced by the FSRN Editorial team, led by Monica Lopez and Simba Russeau, and FSRN's Headlines Producer Nell Abram in full collaboration with our reporters around the country and around the world.
