Thurs. protest: Support the City Colleges strike!
 
A student rally will be held at 11 am on Thursday, october 28 at city hall, located at 121 n. la salle. The purpose of the rally is to create student pressure on the mayor to intervene in the currently blocked negotiations between the board of ed administrators (all appointed by daley) and striking teachers of the city colleges. Students are encouraged to bring signs and noisemakers to their campuses and board buses headed to city hall. The following is the schedule for these busses and their departures from the various campuses:

Meet at Harold Washington College at 10:30am for march over to City Hall.

Or buses are coming in from the other colleges

Bus #1: Daley College, leaves at 9:30 am
        Malcom X, leaves at 10:00 am
Bus #2: Olive Harvey College, leaves at 9:30 am
        Kennedy-King, leaves at 10:00 am
Bus #3: Wright College, leaves at 9:30 am
        Truman College, leaves at 10:00 am
 
People should contact and bring as many of their classmates and friend s as possible. Additionally, part time teachers and full time teachers not needed on the picket line should be encouraged to attend.
 
We have elected a speaker for the Thursday event as well as a union liaison to report back from the union officials between now and the rally.
