S. KOREA. 10.26/Last Week's Struggle Report...

...by MSSC (Myeong-dong Sit-in Struggle Collective) - now since 346 days in strike against government's policy of man hunt and mass deportation.

LAST WEEK’S STRUGGLE REPORT (Seoul, 10.26)

The last week passed more inconspicuous, beside our strike still is going on.
On Tuesday, 10.19 some of the striking workers from Geumgang pharmaceutical factory learned together with some of our comrades from two student supporters revolutionary expression dances.

As you can see it was a kind of funny.
On Thursday the activists who are defending their basis of existence in downtown Seoul’s Cheongjin-dong made a protest pick nick on the street in front of Jongno-gu (district) office.

The construction mafia want to tear down the whole area between Jong-no and Jongno-gu office…

...and later much more (here you can see a photo report about it).
On Thursday evening MSSC had the weekly struggle rally in Myeong-dong.

About 100 supporters, mainly students and some construction workers union activists, joined the event.
On Saturday many people protested against the National Security Law. In the afternoon about 40 political veterans and 120 young people started a demonstration in Daehak-no and marched to the area near Kyobo B/D, downtown Seoul. There the cops provoked again, like on several demonstrations before, with blocking the final marching point. So the stage, a cultural festival was planned here, had to be built one block before the official place.
During the early night about 5000 people – mainly supporters of so-called “national liberation” political wing ("left"wing nationalists, but not really progressive) - gathered there, followed the program… and clashed at least twice with the large units of riot cops. An article in Korean about the event you can read here (there you can watch also three videos about the event). Of course all these days MSSC members were preparing for ETU-MB’s General Assembly, held one day later, Sunday, 10.24 in the Kunkook University. Here a majority of the ETU-MB members accepted the 2003/2004 activities and financial report and elected a new leadership. Understandably here is not the right place to report more in details.
That day was also the day number

of sit-in strike. After the General Assembly we’d a beautiful getting together until the late night and we promised that the we will strengthen our struggle and in the near future the enemy will be surprised, believe it!

Here just some more impression from the General Assembly and the event after
