"OPPOSE ANTI-GAY RALLY HOSTED BY 'PRO-FAMILY' HATE GROUPS"

On Saturday, October 16, the Illinois Family Institute (IFI) and other groups opposed to equal rights for Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals and Transgender people will rally in Marquette Park in an attempt to bring to Illinois a constitutional amendment banning equal marriage rights to same-sex couples. This is a kick-off rally for a series hate mongering meetings across the state.

Constitutional amendments such as that proposed for Illinois are a grave threat to our community and to the rights of all. The antigay campaign now underway nationwide, if victorious, could result in attacks on the rights of other groups as well.

Please join us in a nonviolent protest against IFI and allied hate groups.

During the Open Housing marches led by Martin Luther King and others in Chicago in 1966, the Nazi headquarters was located near Marquette Park. Nazis helped to organize vicious racist opposition and violence against protesters for racial justice. Marquette Park is once again being used to preach hate.
