---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A full-size replica (25x10x10 feet) of one segment of the Apartheid Wall will be erected in downtown Chicago and we are inviting people to join us in a 24-hour fast and vigil against the wall and to demonstrate solidarity with the people of Palestine and with the recent International Court of Justice (ICJ) ruling condemning Israel’s barrier to peace as illegal under international law and a gross violation of international human rights. In addition to the display we will be passing out literature and other materials, setting up educational panels with photos and maps of the walls destructive path, reenacting scenes associated with the wall in Palestine, showing video footage of the wall and ongoing efforts to overcome it, and holding a press conference to which we’ve invited representatives from the campaign, the Palestinian community, and members of the Illinois Congressional Delegation who voted against the recent U.S. Congressional resolution condemning the ICJ ruling.
