Voice's Life Under Occupation Weekend of Events

Join Voices in the Wilderness, as we commemorate our country's use of weapons of mass destuction. August 6th is the anniversary of the use of the atomic bomb against the people of Hiroshima, and also the start of the economic sanctions against the people of Iraq. A weekend of events has been planned and include the following:

AUGUST 6th-An evening of remembrance and resistance.

7:00 PM-Remember our country's march into nuclear idoltry at the site of the Manhattan Project. Join us at the Moore "Nuclear Energy" sculpture on the university of Chicago Campus. (on Ellis Ave, between 56th and 57th St.)

9:00 PM-Music and education on our country's use of weapons of mass destruction on Iraq and Japan. 3829 N. Broadway, #3. There is a suggested donation of $10-20, however no one will be turned away for lack of funds. Proceeds will support Voices work concerning the US war in Iraq.

AUGUST 9th-Procession from death the resistance

10:30 AM-gather at the nuclear energy statue.(Ellis ave, between 56th and 57th st.)

11:00 AM-Process to the recruiting station at 5401 S Wentworth Ave.

12:00-1:00 PM-leaflet and vigil at the recruiting station.

2:00-3:30 PM-vigil at the federal building. (230 S. Dearborn.)

3:30 PM-Process to Boeing (100 N Riverside Plaza)

4:00-6:00 PM-vigil and leafleting at Boeing.
