CPS is holding an "informational meeting" on their Renaissance 2010 Plan, the one that will close 100 schools and re-open many as privatized schools in one form or another, without LSCs and some run by for-profit corporations.

Community groups, including some on the south and west sides (strongly affected by the plan), have been organizing resistance and are urging people, especially teachers, to attend community forums and speak up and out. There will be many such forums like this, no doubt..

This email is to both try to get people to come as well as just to inform, as there is basically no advance warning (sorry on this one)...
