Caravan to Cuba Passes Through Chicago
On Saturday June 26 the 15th Pastors for Peace caravan headed to Cuba to express solidarity and challenge the U.S. trade embargo will be passing through Chicago and hosting an event at Decima Musa Restaurant in Pilsen, 1901 S. Loomis.
The event, starting at 7 p.m., will include videos about the Cuba caravans, poetry and music.
The caravan, which started in cities around the country, is on its way to a border orientation in Texas and a program in Cuba July 9-18. On July 19 the group will hold a "reverse challenge," crossing back into the U.S. with embargoed goods. Last year the group tried to bring non-toxic roach killer and honey into the U.S. but saw the goods confiscated at the border.
