NEW VIDEO RESOURCES ON POST-9/11 CIVIL LIBERTIES
ISSUES

Documentary filmmaker Matt Ehling (producer of "Urban Warrior") has created a series of new programs on civil liberties issues, and is making them available for community education efforts.

The first components in this series are:

1.  "State Secrets:  9/11 and Civil Liberties".  This is a 40 minute documentary highlighting civil libertarian concerns regarding the PATRIOT Act, changes to FBI guidelines, the Bush administration's "enemy combatant" concept, and other post-9/11 policies.  The program provides a succinct analysis of
these controversial powers, and reveals the historical back-story to these initiatives.

Interviewees include Nancy Chang and Michael Ratner (Center for Constitutional Rights), Jonathan Turley (George
Washington University), Tim Lynch (the CATO
Institute), Donna Newman (counsel in the Jose Padilla case), and others.

2.  "9/11 Perspectives" contains 30 minutes of
supplemental interviews with legal scholars and leading civil libertarians on post-9/11 issues. Topics include due process violations, government secrecy, expanding executive branch power, and more.
Additional interviewees include Nat Hentoff of the Village Voice.
