G8 Pre-Summit in Bloomington IN on June 4th

The G8 will be holding an important pre-summit conference in Bloomington, Indiana on Friday, June 4th. Join us in our refusal of their policies!
***Please Forward Widely***

Protest the G8 and Free Trade!!!
Friday, June 4th
11:30am on the steps of the IU Library
on the corner of 10th and Jordan St.
Please bring signs, puppets, drums, noise makers, yourselves and your voices!

Please join concerned Hoosiers and our friends and allies from around the Midwest in gathering to say NO! to free trade and to reclaim our global community!

Unbeknownst to many of us, infamous free trade economists and G8 consultants will be meeting at the Kelly School of Business on the IU Bloomington Campus this Thursday and Friday, June 3rd and 4th.

The G8 is an international organization that coordinates the economic policy of the eight most wealthy nations in the world. Free trade economics, proscribed by the G8, damages local economies, undermines environmental integrity, and imposes undemocratic projects such as I-69 and the outsourcing of jobs to developing nations.

This event, which takes place over the next two days, is a pre-conference meeting for the G8 summit, which is scheduled to occur on Sea Island, GA next week.

By showing our disapproval of the short sighted actions and ideas promoted by the G8, we are standing in solidarity with all those who suffer from the impacts of free trade globalization, here in Monroe County and around the world.

Please join us for a celebratory demonstration, featuring speakers and music this Friday, June 4th at 11:30am, on the steps of the IU Library.
