MOTIVATION
Thirty-seven years later, and despite widespread international condemnation and U.N. Security Council resolutions demanding immediate withdrawal, Israel continues to occupy and violate the human, civil, political and national rights of the Palestinian people. Since September of 2000 the occupation has escalated into the vicious repression of the Palestinian Intifada, in which over 3300 Palestinian have been killed and more than 45,000 injured; another 6000+ are being subjected to torture and inhumane conditions as political prisoners; and more than 5 million Palestinian refugees and their descendants continue to have their Right of Return denied. Adding to the plight of the Palestinian people is the construction of the Apartheid Wall resulting in more expropriation of Palestinian land and water resources, paralyzing restrictions on movement, limited and sporadic access to basic medical care, education, employment and other services, and the continued Bantustanization of Palestine.
