We have an emergency update and Action Request on the US/UK Extradition Treaty. As of yesterday April 22nd it is confirmed that President George Bush Jr. has TRANSMITTED THE US/UK EXTRADITION TREATY TO THE SENATE. This development follows a visit by British Prime Minister Tony Blair to the White House on April 19th. We have obtained copies of the Transmittal Documents dated this week that include a memo from Colin Powell, dated last fall and presumably held until an opportune visit from the British Prime Minister. These documents confirm that the President has approved the transfer of the US/UK Extradition Treaty and it is now in the hands of the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
