Spring is here & WINDY CITY HEMP FEST is MAY 15-16th. The MARCH is SAT., MAY 1st. Hope to see you there! We?re also doing some benefits for the fests and having meetings to coordinate & work on the display. We?d love to have your input & help! WE NEED HELP WITH PUBLICITY, SEE THE BOTTOM OF THIS EMAIL! Here?s our schedule so far:

TONIGHT Sat., April 3rd~BENEFIT for the Fests @ WEEDS, 1555 N. Dayton (corner of Dayton & Weed St). It?s just a block southwest of the North Ave. Halstead & Clybourn intersection. We?ll be there at 8:30 with HEMP FOOD snacks ? hemp pasta salad, hemp nut butter & jelly & such & at 10pm there?s MUSIC ~ Genral Patton & His Privates and the Ad Roc Committee
We invite you to come early & enjoy the hemp foods, ask questions or share your ideas, get some flyers, participate in our raffles & stay for the music too! (21 & over ~ voluntary donation at the door)

SUN., April 11th 2-5pm MEETING, HEMP FOODS, work on the displays, coordinate volunteers, flyer & poster pickup, idea exchange ? we NEED imaginative help ? at NO EXIT CAFÉ, 6970 N. Glenwood St. just south of the Heartland Café between Lunt & Morse Sts. in Rogers Park (Glenwood is one block west of Sheridan Rd. Lunt is between Devon & Touhy ~ the Red Line EL stops at Morse St., exit the train on the north side, Lunt, & walk south on Glenwood) all ages welcome

SUN., April 11th 9pm BENEFIT for the Fests
The Boulevard Café 3137 W. Logan Blvd.
We thank Terrapin Flyer for hosting this one, their weekly get together at The Boulevard. We?ll be there with HEMP FOODS, leaflets & a raffle to raise a few bucks for the fest. The Boulevard Café is just east of Milwaukee Ave. & Logan Square ? a few blocks south of Diversey. (21 & over)

FRI., April 23rd 8:30pm BENEFIT for the Fests
@ Phyllis? Musical Inn, 1500 W. Division St.
Once again, HEMP FOODS, chat, info & coordination of volunteers, pick up leaflets, etc. at 8:30 then MUSIC at 10pm. Bands to be announced.

SATURDAY, MAY 1st ~ High Noon ~ Million Marijuana / Stop the Drug War March ~ in 200+ cities worldwide this year
Federal Plaza, on Dearborn between Adams & Jackson Streets downtown
Rally with Speakers & Music at Noon, March at 1pm & return to the plaza for more music & speakers.

SAT & SUN, MAY 15-16TH, HIGH NOON ~ 9pm

Noon-9pm, Montrose & the Lake, 2 more days of fun & music for peace for all

We need help with lots of things.
~ Before the fest we need help with publicity, putting leaflets in stores & coffeehouses around town, putting up posters, leafleting at events, posting notices wherever we can, sending listings to small papers, on campuses, etc. Getting the word out on the air is great too ~ any ideas?
********** If you can help us leaflet please send an address for us to mail flyers to or we can email you an original to make copies of, tell us how many you can use

~ We?ll have a few meetings to prepare the displays & share ideas for what the fest will be about this year.
~ We put up our own stage Fri. night before the fest starting at 5 pm (call to confirm) and take it down Sunday night.
~ We put up the displays & tables Sat. morning starting at 9am.
~ We need folks to work the literature tables & pass out literature in the crowd.
~ We need folks just to be around & be aware of what?s happening ~ we?ve never needed real security but we like to keep an eye on what?s going on around the park.

and we need folks to smile, dance, start drum circles & enjoy the day!
