Tax Day Protest against Plan Colombia

BOYCOTT

COCA-COLA!

STOP PLAN

COLOMBIA!

NATIONAL DAY OF ACTION TO SUPPORT COLOMBIAN TRADE UNIONISTS!

Nine Colombian trade unionists are dead, killed by Coca-Cola death squads. Many of you have heard Luis Adolfo Cardona testimony on the connection between Coke and the right wing paramilitary death squads in Colombia. Coca-Cola's strategy to eliminate the workers' union SINALTRAINAL, includes firing, intimidating, and murdering union
leaders. In response, 30 union leaders held an eighteen-day hunger strike, winning negotiations with Coca-Cola over their jobs. With the Colombia Action Network and USAS, students at DePaul, Northeastern, Lake Forest, College of Dupage, U of
Chicago, and Loyola are organizing a boycott and kicking Coca-Cola off their campuses. DePaul University wrote a letter requesting the Workers' Rights Consortium, a watchdog group, investigate Coca-Cola's crimes. We are rallying to support DePaul University for their moral stand.

In Colombia, three trade unionists are murdered every week. These violations are promoted by "Plan Colombia", a U.S. war plan. Plan Colombia unleashes paramilitary death squads and chemical fumigations on poor peasants and their crops, leaving narco-traffickers untouched. Created by Clinton/Gore, added on to by Bush, Plan
Colombia has cost U.S. taxpayers $3 billion. On April 15th, Tax Day, we are protesting Plan Colombia, and call for an end to the spending of working people's hard earned money, over $2 million per day, for war against trade unionists and poor peasants in Colombia. Republican Senator Fitzgerald votes against Plan Colombia.
Tell Death Squad Democrat Dick Durbin (312- 353-4952 dick (at) durbin.senate.gov) to vote "NO" on Plan Colombia this time!
