In particular we are calling on people to come to an open organizing meeting to discuss and plan an appropriate response to the Pro-Life Action League’s “Face the Truth” tour of Chicago’s college and university campuses over the course of the next three months. Their next local stop will be on April 7 at the University of Illinois-Chicago (UIC) and the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT). Future stops include Columbia College, Roosevelt University, University of Chicago, DePaul University and various to-be-named downtown locations. Many of you have probably seen religious zealot Joe Scheidler, his son Eric, and their fanatic anti-choice followers waving American flags and holding blown up 8x4feet color placards of doctored up fetuses and depictions of “Jesus” with captions like “Abortion Kills His Children” on curbsides and outside of abortion providers in an attempt to harass, shame and in some cases physically assault abortion providers and the women who seek abortion services.

Recently Scheidler and his followers visited Northwestern and Loyola University where they were met with a strong response and challenge to their misleading and false propaganda. Rather than plan for each future campus visit as a separate and independent action we seek to coordinate our actions so as to provide the broadest and most inclusive response possible on each given day. If you support the reproductive and sexual rights of women everywhere and believe in the concept of individual self-determination then please come to this important meeting.
