From the Ad-hoc Committee to Protect Constitutional Democracy in Haiti flyer handed out at the protest.
"...President Aristide is the legitimate president of Haiti. He was elected by the overwelming majority of the people through an election in 2001 that was witnessed by the international community which gave its stamp of approval. However, consistent with its disregard of the American electoral process, the Bush team undermined Aristide's administration by financing an opposition and blocking all funds (loan and grants) that President Aristide sought from the international community. Like Papa Bush before him, Baby Bush despised President Aristide both because he exposed U.S. complicity with the repressive regimes, including the notorious regimes of Papa Doc and Baby Doc Duvalier, that have historically stunted the growth of democracy, stability and prosperity in Haiti, and because he refused to be a puppet of U.S. interests...We call on all the freedom loving people of the world to stand up and expose the lies and demand the return of Jean-Bertrand Aristide to his elected post as President of the Republic of Haiti.
