RUSTBELT FNB

RUSTBELT GATHERING FOOD NOT BOMBS IN CLEVELAND OHIO APRIL 29-MAY 1
Cleveland OHIO is planning the first ever Rustbeltfnb gathering! Our anticipated date is 04.29.04-04.01.04.
We'll kick off the weekend with a RAT (Radical art troop) race in the industrial flats and other areas where radical art is needed. The 30th is going to be a day full of skill sharing and workshops.

Some of the workshops are:
Bio-desiel
(basic) Bike Repair
Womyn herbal health (Maybe some info on herbal abortion given by Twin Oaks)
Menstrual health
And many more.....
There will also be a kick ball game in Lincoln park

That evening we're going to take our bikes to the streets and join Cleveland Critical Mass. Followed by a dance party in the flats at Ohio City Bike Co op.
On MayDay (there aren't any actions organized yet but maybe there might be?)
Keith McHenry will talk about the Food Not Bombs groups he visited in Europe, the Middle East and Mexico. Jen Lawhorne of Richmond Food Not Bombs will share her experience working with activists in Argentina. We intend to travel with at least one band. Attend the Drop Bush Not Bombs program and learn more.We will show a video about 1995 Food Not Bombs gathering in San Francisco. We will also discuss the movement's future and plans for A Food Not Bombs World Gathering to be held the week before the Republican National Convention in New York City.

Award-winning Australian filmmaker, Elizabeth Tadic, is making a video documentary of the worldwide Food Not Bombs peace movement. Its 2005 release will coincide with the 25th anniversary of Food Not Bombs. Provisionally titled "Bombs & Broccoli," the film will be the first to show the magnitude and quiet influence of this global social movement, virtually ignored by the mainstream media for the past quarter century. She will be filming the tour.

Please pass this information on to other FNBer in other cities. And if you have any input on workshops or want to give a workshop please e-mail.
We will also need lots of Volunteers on those days.

Here is a list of things we are going to need:
LOTS-O-coffee!!
Breakfast stuff (pancake mix, bagels, cereal, soymilk)
Any donation of food in bulk would be nice (we do plan on serving at least twice during the gathering)
Plates, forks, spoons, cups....

TENTS (we may camp in the park)
