Democracy Now's Amy Goodman in Chicago, March 3
Amy Goodman will present a talk March 3 at the Harold Washington Library at 5:30pm on Women in the Media. The presentation is part of Speak Out! and Women's History Month.
The Chicago Public Library welcomes Amy Goodman, radio host and executive producer of the show "Democracy Now!" on Pacifica Radio's New York Station, WBAI (and Chicago's WZRD, 7am, weekdays).
Amy Goodman will be the keynote speaker for Speak Out! Women and the Media, the kickoff program for the Chicago Public Library's 2004 Women's History Month Celebration.
The free event will be held on Wednesday, March 3, 2004, at 5:30pm, at the Harold Washington Library Center, 400 S. State St., 9th Floor South Hall (formerly the Beyond Words cafe).
Amy Goodman, who has won the George Polk award for her work, will talk about her experiences reporting from East Timor, Nigeria, and Peru, as well as the role of women in journalism.
The program is a partnership between the Chicago Public Library and the University of Illinois at Chicago.
