SAVE THE DATE -- SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 28th
1st Midwest Regional Racial Justice 911
Meeting in Chicago

Dear fellow activist, organizer:

Racial Justice 911 (RJ 911) Chicago, a coalition of people of color organizations and organizers, is dedicated to developing a regional network
of racial justice organizations in order to build a broad-based resistance to the U.S.' dangerous foreign and domestic policies, known as the "War on Terrorism", among communities of color.

We are calling upon people of color activists,
organizers, and community leaders from across the Midwest region to join together to build a common
"people's vision" and help us to:

* Create a space for a diverse range of people of color activists, organizers, intellectuals, workers, faith-based leaders, youth, and community residents to come together and share their struggles and strategies in the movement
for peace and justice at home and abroad.

* Examine the forms of the peoples' resistance to the effects of war policies on local education, health, economic policies and the backlash against civil liberties and POC and immigrant communities

* Discuss a ongoing vision and strategy for the future in which we can highlight the links between our diverse struggles, support each others'
campaigns, and create a common agenda for collective action in the region

* Build towards a regional gathering of people of color in the late Spring/Summer of 2004 as we strengthen our struggles in this critical
election year.

RJ 911 Chicago is a part of Racial Justice 911, a
national effort launched in February 2002 to develop a national network of racial justice
organizations. RJ 911 Chicago began by coordinating two days of workshops, cultural activity and a press conference on May 17 and
19, 2003 (in honor of the birthdays of Malcolm X, Ho Chi Minh and Yuri Kochiyama).

We will be following up by phone in the coming weeks to talk to you more about your work and how we may work together to build a Midwest peoples'
movement.

Peace and Solidarity,

Prateek Sampat, Midwest Regional Coordinator
