Late last night 3 police from the 18th District broke into an apartment at 1230 N. Burling in Cabrini-Green housing development - they arrested, handcuffed, and then savagely stomped Antonio Parker, who needed 13 stitches to close the torn skin on his face from the kicks of the cops' boots.

Antonio had been attacked by the police in April 2003. A videotape of him and others being beaten while handcuffed appeared on almost every Chicago news station. Antonio had moved elsewhere for fear of his life because of threats the police had made against him, but was back in Cabrini-Green the night before his court appearance today for the April 2003 arrest.

Antonio reported from jail that he was having problems breathing because of the police stomping on his chest and that he was still dizzy from the cops kicking his head.

AK, resident of Cabrini-Green, said that this winter police from the 18th district "have been kicking people in the face while handcuffed up to two or three times a week. The police don't let two weeks go by without seriously harming someone, usually with facial injuries that require stitches."
