On Thursday, January 15th, 26 peace activists met at Tribune Plaza from where they held a procession to the Israeli consulate to make a presence in response to the passing of International Solidarity activist Tom Hurndall.

Tom Hurndall was mortally wounded April 11th, 2003 in Israeli occupied Palestine while attempting to pull Palestinian children away from Israeli gunfire. Despite wild Israeli accusations that he was wearing an army uniform and armed, eyewitnesses have ascertained Tom was in a flourescent jacket.

Tom had been comatose in hospital where he finally succumbed to pneumonia on January 13th. Formal charges have since been brought against several Israeli soldiers.

Meanwhile Palestinians continue to suffer daily in this illegal occupation that amounts to genocide.
