Meditations On Violence Speakers Series

The Meditations on Violence Series is a free, monthly, public conversation on issues of violence. January's presentation features Michael Terrien from Play For Peace.
Michael Terrien, co-founder of Play For Peace, will talk about his organization's model for community change as part of Thousand Waves' Meditations on Violence series.

The series was started to provide an ongoing public discussion on the many ways that violence penetrates our lives. Thousand Waves invites speakers from organizations dedicated to erradicating various facets of violence to share information and join in our discussion on a monthly basis.

Play For Peace is a unique organization that uses non-competitive, collaborative games to teach compassion and peace to children from communities in conflict. It was founded in 1996 by Michael Terrien and Craig Dobkin. For this presentation, Terrien will invite members of the audience to participate in some games and activities that are used in the Play For Peace process.

This is a free event which is open to the public. Light refreshments will be served before the talk.
