State Senator Miguel del Valle (D-Chicago) has called for a hearing
of the Illinois State Senate Education Committee regarding the high
school drop out rate in Illinois, especially among minority
students. The hearing is scheduled for Thursday, January 8, 2004
from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the James R. Thompson Center Auditorium
in Chicago, on the Concourse level, 100 West Randolph Street.

State and local education officials, organizations, community
associations, teachers and students will be participating. The
public is invited and encouraged to attend.
