three arrested at leo burnett bldg

three protesters were arrested outside of the leo burnett building wednesday morning, march 19th, around 10am.
three protesters were arrested outside of the leo burnett building this morning around 10am. rachael perotta, eric peters, and Shawn Casey are being charged with criminal property damage and are currently being held at the district one h.q. (18th & state).

*** jail solidarity is currently taking place outside of district one on 18th & state. ***
please spread the news and join the demonstrators outside of the jail. police are estimating that the processing may take 8-24 hours. no other information is being provided. also, they may or may not transfer the two arrested to another jail.

these charges are bogus and unwarrented. there were some protesters writing on the west-side wall of the leo burnett bldg, but rachael perotta had not written anthing. they arrested her after the fact, saying she had written on the wall, and apparently did so only as a message to protesters that the police have the upper hand and are messing around (the police colonel presnent made a statement in reaction to one of the protesters, "yes, i am out of control" after ordering the two arrests).

eric peters was arrested after the protesters were asked to leave the north-side sidewalk of the burnett bldg (massive chalking on the sidewalk was taking place). the colonel present confiscated the box of sidewalk chalk and refused to give it back. the group was proceeding to leave the area, but because of arguments between the protesters and the police, the colonel ordered that eric peters be arrested. (the colonel had verbally communicated that eric was a target because the colonel recognized him from prior protests.) at the time, the police would not admit any charges against eric. also, let it be known that while eric was being taken to the squad car, a female bystandard stopped her car between the police vehicles and told the police outright that eric had not done anything criminal and should not be arrested. the woman, who exclaimed that she is a US naval officer, refused to move her car from the scene.

apparently (details are unclear), shawn casey was arrested when he returned to the leo burnett building after the group left and was writing on the walls of the building.
