WHEN & WHERE:
11:00 AM - Buses leave First Trinity Lutheran Church 643 W. 31st St.
12:00 PM - Public demonstration begins at People's gas main payment center, 401 S. State St. Protesters will proceed to 5th floor City Hall and 3rd Floor State of Illinois Building.
WHY:
100,000 Chicago households are currently without heat or hot water. Natural gas bills are expected to double and in some cases triple this winter. Utility companies are reaping ever-increasing profits from high-stakes energy trading and, yes, you guessed it - the WAR IN IRAQ. And our government - federal, state and local - is protecting these profits legislatively.
What will it take to take back Thanksgiving?
NO WINTER SHUTOFFS !
