Good Bye To Chicago.IndyMedia

Free Speech Is DEAD At Chicago.Indymedia
I just call at call from "Christine" at ChicagoIndy.media informing me that this site "does not promote free speech."

And here I thought indymedia.org was truly an independent and free venue for individual expression. I had a wonderful talk with a fellow, I believe by the first name of Ian - or was it Len? - who told me that, yes, this is a free and open and independent publishing forum.

But for a few minutes this evening I was beginning to wonder for I was puzzled as why a recent piece about "liberty" which I posted by Frederick Bastiat was taken down a few minutes prior which read....

Let Us Now Try Liberty

God has given to men all that is necessary for them to accomplish their destinies. He has provided a social form as well as a human form. And these social organs of persons are so constituted that they will develop themselves harmoniously in the clean air of liberty. Away, then, with quacks and organizers! Away with their rings, chains, hooks, and pincers! Away with their artificial systems! Away with the whims of governmental administrators, their socialized projects, their centralization, their tariffs, their government schools, their state religions, their free credit, their bank monopolies, their regulations, their restrictions, their equalization by taxation, and their pious moralizations!

And now that the legislators and do-gooders have so futilely inflicted so many systems upon society, may they finally end where they should have begun: May they reject all systems, and try liberty; for liberty is an acknowledgment of faith in God and His works.>>

After confirming that the post went up, no sooner than just a few minutes past then it was summarily removed. And then about 10-15 later, at close to 1 am I get a call from Christine with a rather irritated tone to her voice. Quite frankly, I was surprised at getting called this early in the morning.

Just so that I was sure I heard Christine correctly, I asked her to confirm that Chicago.indymedia.org did not support free speech. And she did so.

And with that I told Christine that I would stop posting.

Let me just say for the record, that if we are really serious about truth we must be serious about freedom. I do not want to infringe on any other individual's right to freely and openly express their ideas and opinions in the open light of day whether that's on the net, in print or in person.

And that said, it's only proper for us to refrain from supporting institutions or causes that are explicitly designed to NOT support our individual freedom of expression.

I'd like to wish all the left and right winging and singing political revolutionaries and peaceniks on these and other threads and papers and venues the very best.

We shall all meet on the plane of ONE truth that is open and free for all of us to receive and share unconditionally with each other.

Thanks for speaking the truth Christine!!

I sincerely believe that for the truth to transform and transcend in all of it's free glory the left hand inevitably has to know what the right hand is doing!! For the truth is FREE!! And, truthfully speaking, there are NO SIDES!!

This will be my last post!

Good luck in your ventures folks.

Peace and God Bless!!

119293!!

Note: I told Christine that I do not accept left-right or middle labels. But if she and others wants to label me, then that's fine.
