THE ROT AT THE COR OF THE SYSTEM
7pm, Saturday, July 20th
"Phony earnings, inflated revenues, conflicted Wall Street analysts, directors aslepp at the switchthis isn't just a few bad apples we're talking about here." wrote Joseph Nocera in last week's Fortune magazine. "This my friends,is a systemic breakdown." Throughout the 1990s Wall Street's demand for super profits led corporations of all kinds to pump up their bottom lines with accounting trickery. Nobody asked questions, even when George Bush himself got in on the action. Some of the biggest crooks may yet go to jail, but their worst crimes will go unpunished. That's because it's perfectly legal to wreck worker's lives in the drive for more profits. Come to this forum to discuss how we can fight backand how we can put an end to corporate crime once and for all, by building a socialist alternative to this corporate greed.
