ROGERS PARK ISO PRESENTS A SCREENING OF THE FILM ****G A Z A S T R I P****

American documentary filmmaker James Longley traveled to the Gaza Strip in January of 2001 and made this film about life under Israeli occupation following the election of war criminal Ariel Sharon and the first major "incursion" of the Israeli Defense forces during the current Intifada.

The film focuses in on the lives of ordinary Palestinians, and provides a stark account of the reality of life under the heel of Israel's brutal occupation.

The film will be preceded by a brief presentation on the struggle for Palestine and followed by a discussion of the struggle, including the issue of whether violence can ever be justified, how Palestine can win self-determination and how people in the United States can organize solidarity with the Palestinian cause.
